Volleyball Recap: Liberty Union's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Liberty Union came into Saturday's contest having lost 15 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past the Miller Falcons 3-2. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons on Saturday, too.

Liberty Union was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (106-104), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Sadie Freeman paced Liberty Union's offense, picking up 11 kills. Freeman got some help from Sophie Sharb and her 29 assists. Sharb was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Liberty Union picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-19. As for Miller, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Coming up, Liberty Union will head out to face off against Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Miller does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
