Volleyball Recap: Mira Mesa Takes a Loss

Mira Mesa's tournament run continued when they took on Mission Vista on Saturday. The Marauders fell just short of Mission Vista by a score of 2-1.

Kalilea Popperwill paced Mira Mesa's offense, picking up six kills. Popperwill were helped by Sabrina Sampson and Kanaiya Parham, who contributed five assists each. Popperwill was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Mira Mesa now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Mission Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Mira Mesa and Mission Vista will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Marauders will take on rival Canyon Hills at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mission Vista is set to square off against their familiar foe Del Norte at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
