Basketball Recap: Bella Gounaris' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Saint Viator over Grayslake Central

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Saint Viator can now relate to. They fell 52-43 to the Grayslake Central Rams on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 40-32 back in December of 2024.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bella Gounaris, who posted 11 points. What's more, Gounaris also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Garcia, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.

Saint Viator's loss dropped their record down to 20-14. As for Grayslake Central, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 27-5.

As of now, neither Saint Viator nor Grayslake Central have any future games scheduled.
