Basketball Game Preview: Maine Central Institute Huskies vs. Winslow Black Raiders

The Maine Central Institute Huskies will take on the Winslow Black Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses apiece.

In Monday's Canine Competition, Maine Central Institute didn't have enough. They lost 48-27 to Hall-Dale on Monday.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-21, which was the final score in Winslow's tilt against Medomak Valley on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Black Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Panthers are ranked 21st).

Winslow's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Maine Central Institute, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Maine Central Institute didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Winslow in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 38-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maine Central Institute since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
