Basketball Game Preview: Hawthorne Valley Wildcats vs. Fort Ann Cardinals

After both having extra time off, the Hawthorne Valley Wildcats and the Fort Ann Cardinals will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Hawthorne Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season.

Hawthorne Valley is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 5th two weeks ago. They lost 84-61 to Mount Academy. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Noah Vom Stein, who posted 25 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Gamiello, who earned 15 points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Fort Ann duked it out withNorth Warren Central two weeks ago. Fort Ann was dealt an 85-27 defeat at the hands of North Warren Central. The match marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Hawthorne Valley will have to keep a close watch on Kadyence Cutter and Hunter Charpentier, a pair of players who had a big impact on Fort Ann's prior game. Cutter had six points and nine rebounds, while Charpentier posted ten points.

Hawthorne Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Fort Ann, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-2.
