Volleyball Recap: Mountain Pointe Falls to Arizona College Prep in First Game of Season

Mountain Pointe had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 3-1 to the Arizona College Prep Knights. The defeat continues a trend for the Pride in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.

Mountain Pointe started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-19, 25-10, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Mountain Pointe saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Leena Hernandez had 18 digs and three aces.

Mountain Pointe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against North on the 28th. As for Arizona College Prep, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Chandler on the 28th.
