Softball Game Preview: Fraser Ramblers vs. Lakeview Huskies

The Fraser Ramblers will square off against the Lakeview Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Tuesday, Fraser came up short against L'Anse Creuse North and fell 6-1. The Ramblers have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Camilla Dawood was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Fraser saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madelyn Mumma, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Algonac hit Lakeview with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Huskies came up short against the Muskrats, falling 11-1.

Lakeview's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Fraser, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Fraser couldn't quite finish off Lakeview when the teams last played back in April and fell 8-6. Can the Ramblers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
