Basketball Recap: Platteview Trojans vs. Arlington Eagles
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Platteview). Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 79-32 stomp they got against the Arlington Eagles. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Platteview's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sully Vanosdall, who went 7 of 10 en route to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Vanosdall a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Adams, who made all 5 shots he took to post 14 points and three steals.
Platteview was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arlington only posted seven assists.
Defeat or not, Arlington got some senior leadership from Trent Koger and Schuyler Logemann. Koger dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards, while Logemann posted 14 points.
