Basketball Recap: Anderson Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Noblesville

On Tuesday, Anderson faced Noblesville in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Anderson Indians fell 66-59 to the Noblesville Millers. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Millers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Anderson's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Don Bowling, who went 5-for-6 en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Javon Warfield, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 13 points and five rebounds.

It was another big night for Baron Walker, who went 8-for-13 on his way to 27 points and five assists for Noblesville. The dominant performance gave Walker a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Curry II, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Anderson's loss dropped their record down to 16-2. As for Noblesville, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anderson will host Indianapolis Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Anderson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Indianapolis Washington likes a good challenge. As for Noblesville, they will welcome Brownsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Noblesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.
