Baseball Recap: Northeastern Clinton Cougars vs. Plattsburgh Hornets
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Northeastern Clinton's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plattsburgh Hornets on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-6 on Monday.
Northeastern Clinton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Schad, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
This is the second loss in a row for Northeastern Clinton and nudges their season record down to 5-7-1. As for Plattsburgh, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeastern Clinton will venture away from home to square off against Ticonderoga at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Plattsburgh, they will head out to take on AuSable Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
