Softball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Wheeler's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Wheeler barely beat Biggersville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wheeler Eagles put the hurt on the Biggersville Lions with a sharp 11-1 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Wheeler is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. Biggersville dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheeler will host Jumpertown at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Biggersville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tremont at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tremont has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.09 runs per game on average), something Biggersville will no doubt try to take advantage of.
