Baseball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Ocean Lakes

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ocean Lakes walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Kecoughtan Warriors a 10-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Dolphins have won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ocean Lakes got a great performance from Daniel Hamilton as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Hamilton has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grey Walsh was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Turner Kuhle, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Ocean Lakes lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Ocean Lakes, bringing their record up to 19-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Kecoughtan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-14.

As of now, neither Ocean Lakes nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
