Softball Recap: Tatum Sets Scoring Season-High Against West Rusk

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tatum). They blew past the West Rusk Raiders 25-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Camryn Milam was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Layla Icenhower, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Tatum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .844. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Tatum and bumps their season record up to 7-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for West Rusk, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Tatum will have a chance to go back-to-back against West Rusk: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
