Basketball Game Preview: Arickaree Bison vs. Otis Bulldogs

The Arickaree Bison will head out on the road to challenge the Otis Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Arickaree is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season.

If Otis heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Arickaree took over last week. Arickaree came out on top against Idalia by a score of 47-38 on Friday.

Arickaree's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zarron Skubal, who went 6 of 7 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake King, who posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Meanwhile, Otis entered their tilt with Prairie on Friday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They strolled past the Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 62-46. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Mustangs are ranked 238th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Otis pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Arickaree, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-5.

Arickaree didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Otis in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 70-66 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arickaree since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
