Desi Canfield had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 156 yards and four TDs on only 11 carries. Those 156 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Michael Dennie was another key player, throwing for 124 yards and one touchdown while completing 80% of his passes.
Nordhoff's run defense was locked in: Beverly Hills could only muster -0.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Luis Gonzalez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Nordhoff didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.2.
Nordhoff's defense didn't let Luca Brenner, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Nordhoff got some further help from Elliot Sheets: he picked up a sack and made six total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Channel Islands scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 28-13 bruising from Bolsa Grande.
Channel Islands' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Nordhoff, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Nordhoff has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 207.6 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Channel Islands, though, as they've been averaging only 48.2 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
