Basketball Recap: Apache Junction Takes a Loss

Apache Junction was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the San Tan Foothills Sabercats and fell 61-28.

San Tan Foothills got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cienna Witcher out in front who posted 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Witcher has scored at least a third of San Tan Foothills' points. Another player making a difference was Ahmira Taylor, who had 18 points.

Apache Junction's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for San Tan Foothills, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

After both having extra time off, Apache Junction and Coolidge will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for San Tan Foothills, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-37 win against Globe on the 17th.
