Soccer Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Kerman

Kerman kept a clean sheet against Riverdale on Wednesday. They beat the Riverdale Cowboys by a goal, winning 1-0. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 498th, while the Cowboys are ranked 246th).

Kerman's one-goal win came courtesy of Isaac Mendoza, who's now up to two this season.

Kerman's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8-2. As for Riverdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5-2.

Kerman has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Exeter on the 10th. As for Riverdale, they will square off against Caruthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverdale is facing Caruthers at the right time seeing as Caruthers is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
