Basketball Recap: Memorial Takes a Loss

Memorial lost against Mineral Ridge back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Memorial Red Devils took a blow against the Mineral Ridge Rams, falling 60-19. The Red Devils just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Memorial lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mileesa Williams, who posted three points and five boards. Those five rebounds gave Williams a new career-high.

Ava Hulett continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mineral Ridge, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. Hulett has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sullivan Sandy, who went 5 of 11 to rack up 14 points.

Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Mineral Ridge, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-4.

Looking ahead, Memorial will face off against Smithville at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. As for Mineral Ridge, they will welcome Our Lady of the Elms at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th.
