Xavier Salas was unstoppable on Wednesday, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fifth in a row with two or fewer walks. For the year, he has an ERA of 2.08 over 37 innings pitched.

Even though Salas couldn't lead Chavez over Monroe, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have some work to do to even out the 2-8 series between these two since May of 2021, but a win here would be a good start.
