Basketball Recap: Gwen Boles' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Green Level over Apex Friendship

Green Level lost against Apex Friendship last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Green Level Gators fell to the Apex Friendship Patriots 67-62.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gwen Boles, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards. Boles is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games she's played. Stella Eckhart was another key player, on her way to 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Jasmine Nivar continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Apex Friendship, dropping a double-double with 39 points and ten boards. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Nivar has scored at least a third of Apex Friendship's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ailani Collazo, who posted nine points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Green Level's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Apex Friendship, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 23-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Green Level will face off against Laney at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Level is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season. As for Apex Friendship, they will challenge Ashley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Apex Friendship's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
