Football Recap: Keyport/Hudson Regional Takes a Loss

After flying high against Keansburg last Saturday, Keyport/Hudson Regional came back down to earth. The Raiders were outmatched by the Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls and fell 41-13. The Raiders lost against the Garnet Gulls in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 21-14 score last time.

Point Pleasant Beach's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Ives, who rushed for 92 yards and one score, and also picked up 50 receiving yards and one touchdown. Ives' longest rush was for an incredible 92 yards. Another passer making a difference was Matthew Rossi, who threw for 232 yards and three TDs on only 18 passes.

Keyport/Hudson Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Point Pleasant Beach, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Keyport/Hudson Regional will square off against rival Asbury Park at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Point Pleasant Beach is set to face off against their familiar foe Shore Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
