John Paul II is 2-8 against Bethesda Academy since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The John Paul II Golden Warrriors will venture away from home to face off against the Bethesda Academy Blazers at 7:00 p.m. Bethesda Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on John Paul II, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, John Paul II beat Bridges Prep 52-43.

Meanwhile, Bethesda Academy lost to First Preparatory Christian Academy at home by a 65-50 margin on Thursday. The loss was the Blazers' first of the season.

John Paul II's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Bethesda Academy, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1.

John Paul II was able to grind out a solid win over Bethesda Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 66-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for John Paul II since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
