Basketball Game Preview: Cullman Bearcats vs. Red Bay Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cullman Bearcats face off against the Red Bay Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday... Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Cullman sitting on four straight wins and Red Bay on seven.

Last Monday, Cullman didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Thompson, but they still walked away with a 60-56 victory. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Warriors are ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Red Bay strolled past Sulligent with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 67-50.

Red Bay found their leader in freshman Khalil Luster, who went 5 of 10 en route to 11 points along with eight boards and five assists. Luster is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played.

Red Bay's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Cullman, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
