Baseball Recap: Fernandina Beach Beats Baker County for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Fernandina Beach proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Baker County Wildcats 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on four straight.

Landen Holbrook was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was his first of the season.

Fernandina Beach's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.25 runs across that stretch. As for Baker County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fernandina Beach will host St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Baker County, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Nassau at 6:30 p.m.
