Soccer Game Preview: Elma vs. Forks

The Elma Eagles will challenge the Forks Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elma will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Elma proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 13) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Raymond/South Bend 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Elma were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Forks, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Everything went their way against Hoquiam on Thursday as they made off with a 5-1 win. Considering Forks have won three contests by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Elma's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four games. As for Forks, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Elma beat Forks by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 2-1. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
