Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wray). They blew past the Burlington Cougars 72-36 on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Wray's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyatt Fonte, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 16 points and six boards. Fonte also posted a block, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brodie Riggelman, who shot 80% from the field en route to 17 points.

Wray was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burlington only posted seven.

Burlington's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Weston Schaal, who posted 15 points and five rebounds, and Lenny Ramirez, who had four points and six boards.

Wray's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Burlington, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Wray will take on Chase County in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burlington will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' contest: after the Eagles face off against Sedgwick County, they'll take on Burlington again at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2026.
