Basketball Game Preview: Glen Burnie Gophers vs. Annapolis Panthers

Glen Burnie and Annapolis are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Glen Burnie Gophers are taking a road trip to challenge the Annapolis Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Friday, Glen Burnie was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-40 to Laurel. The Gophers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Annapolis). They took down Crofton 69-52 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Annapolis' win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Glen Burnie, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Glen Burnie lost to Annapolis on the road by a decisive 48-32 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Glen Burnie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
