The Carrabec Cobras will venture away from home to face off against the Telstar Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Carrabec is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Carrabec is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Forest Hills just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-4.

Colton Scheve was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Carrabec: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Telstar waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Telstar got a massive performance out of Brennan Walker, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Walker a new career-high. Connor Deprey was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Telstar kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.
Telstar's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Carrabec, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Carrabec has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Telstar struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Carrabec suffered a grim 18-7 defeat to Telstar in their previous meeting on May 3rd. Can the Cobras avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
