Baseball Game Preview: Kiefer Trojans vs. Sequoyah Indians

For the second straight game, Kiefer will face off against Sequoyah. Kiefer will head out on the road to square off against Sequoyah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kiefer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Kiefer was able to grind out a solid victory over Sequoyah, taking the game 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Landon Ruggieri spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Owen Murphy, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Kiefer is undefeated when Murphy posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Koi Birdtail, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Sequoyah's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3. As for Kiefer, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
