Football Recap: Floresville Comes Up Short

Floresville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 37-28 to the Calhoun Sandcrabs. The Tigers/Jaguars lost against the Sandcrabs in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 66-21 score last time.

The critical scores for Calhoun came from Ashton Sternadel, Jojo Baldera, Gunner Martinez, Holton Hadley, and Izaiah Cabrales.

Floresville's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Calhoun, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Coming up, Floresville will take on La Vernia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Tigers/Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Calhoun, they will challenge El Campo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ricebirds' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Sandcrabs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
