Baseball Recap: Lake Havasu Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lake Havasu had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They never let the Lee Williams Volunteers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Volunteers, too.

Not much got past Landen Nigg, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Lee Williams off the board. Nigg has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Trevor Thompson was a standout: he scored four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Deegan Cross, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Lake Havasu was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Lake Havasu's record now sits at 6-2. As for Lee Williams, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Havasu will be taking part in a tournament against Sunnyslope at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lee Williams, they will face off against Dysart at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Dysart has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.5 runs per game on average), something Lee Williams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
