Softball Recap: Sacred Hearts Academy Takes a Loss

Sacred Hearts Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They came up short against the Pac-Five Wolfpack, falling 14-4. On the bright side, the four- run effort marked the Lancers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Sacred Hearts Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Destiny Tautofi, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Melody Miranda also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

As for Pac-Five, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

On Pac-Five's side, Kylie Oshita made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Oshita was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Mauiola Zuttermeister was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Dahlia Gangano, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

As of now, neither Sacred Hearts Academy nor Pac-Five have any future games scheduled.
