Softball Game Preview: Naples Big Green Machines vs. Hammondsport Lakers

The Naples Big Green Machines will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Hammondsport Lakers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Naples is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They came up short against Avoca Central on Tuesday, falling 13-1.

Naples saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Brahm, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hammondsport lost 17-5 to Addison on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Lakers in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost six in a row.

Everything went Naples' way against Hammondsport when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Naples made off with an 18-1 victory. Will the Big Green Machines repeat their success, or do the Lakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
