Softball Recap: Nestucca Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Nestucca and Knappa had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bobcats took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Loggers on Tuesday. Bobcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Loggers since on Tuesday.

Piper Armstrong spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

Nestucca dropped their record down to 5-17 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Knappa, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-5-1.

While Nestucca had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
