Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Lugoff-Elgin's Winning Streak

Lugoff-Elgin's game on Friday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Camden Bulldogs by a score of 48-46. The game marked the Demons' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Lugoff-Elgin lost, don't look at Jernigan Williams. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Long, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lugoff-Elgin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

With the defeat, Lugoff-Elgin broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3. As for Camden, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Lugoff-Elgin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-38 victory against Roswell on the 27th. As for Camden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-54 loss against Rock Hill on the 27th.
