Baseball Recap: Denison Comes Up Short

Denison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 20-7 to the Lovejoy Leopards. If the Yellow Jackets were looking for revenge after losing 19-1 to the Leopards when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Denison saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brad S Smith, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Smith has posted since back in February. Max Aleman was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Denison's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Lovejoy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

While Denison had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
