Soccer Game Preview: Sterling vs. Frontier Academy

Sterling is 1-9 against Frontier Academy since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Wolverines at 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sterling's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roosevelt on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Frontier Academy hadn't done well against Liberty Common recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wolverines' defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 4-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Frontier Academy, who have now won nine matches by three goals or more so far this season.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Frontier Academy, bringing their record up to 11-2-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matchups. As for Sterling, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1.

Sterling might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Frontier Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
