Baseball Recap: Luling Comes Up Short

Luling came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-6 to the Karnes City Badgers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Badgers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in March.

Luling saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Reyna, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Jonah Hernandez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Luling's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Karnes City, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Luling will challenge Nixon-Smiley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Karnes City, they will square off against Goliad at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Badgers surely won't give up without a fight.
