Baseball Recap: Cohasset Gets the Win

Cohasset got themselves on the board against Mashpee on Tuesday, but Mashpee never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons, sneaking past 2-0. This was a revenge game for the Skippers: when they faced off against the Falcons back in April, they had to take a 5-0 defeat.

The result came thanks to Tucker Bliss's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Michael Hession was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Soderberg, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Cohasset's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Mashpee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Looking ahead, Cohasset will square off against West Bridgewater at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mashpee, they will venture away from home to take on Abington at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
