Volleyball Recap: Lake Region Takes a Loss

Lake Region was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-13.

Charlotte Williams paced Lake Region's offense, picking up three kills. Williams got some help from Yatnielis Medina Gonzalez and her five assists. Avianna Olmos controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Santa Fe Catholic to victory were AJAYIA HODGES and ANSLEY LAUSELL. HODGES had 13 digs and six kills, while LAUSELL had ten digs and eight kills. HODGES is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last eight games she's played. BRIDGET WALSH was another key player, getting 18 assists.

Lake Region's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Santa Fe Catholic, their record now sits at 7-9.

Lake Region didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Roosevelt Academy on the 27th. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Victory Christian Academy on the 27th.
