Baseball Recap: Kempsville Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Kempsville's offense. They lost 7-0 to the Landstown Eagles on Tuesday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Chiefs were not able to get on the board.

Kempsville got a good showing from Arijus Knasas, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.

Kempsville's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Landstown, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kempsville will take on Ocean Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dolphins' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Chiefs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Landstown, they will challenge Green Run at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Stallions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
