Softball Recap: Raines Extends Winning Streak to Three

Raines had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 21-5 margin over the Riverside Generals. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 36-22 back in March.

Erica kilpatrick was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. AMARI Tookes was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

KilpatricK wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Raines kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 16 hits in three consecutive matches.

Raines now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Riverside, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Raines will host Yulee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Riverside, they will head out on the road to face off against Englewood at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Generals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
