Baseball Recap: Hudson Takes a Loss

Hudson came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Nederland Bulldogs, falling 7-1. The Hornets have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Trip Sanders was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Hudson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Bonacci, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Hudson now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Nederland, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Coming up, Hudson will head out on the road to challenge Longview at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Nederland, they will welcome Little Cypress-Mauriceville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Nederland's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Little Cypress-Mauriceville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
