Baseball Recap: Delaware Christian Comes Up Short

Delaware Christian extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-10 in the process. They came up short against the Shekinah Christian Flames, falling 19-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

As for Shekinah Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.

For Shekinah Christian's part, AJ Yoder made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Yoder was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brayden DiCarro was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Bauermeister, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

As of now, neither Delaware Christian nor Shekinah Christian have any future games scheduled.
