Softball Recap: Longmeadow Beats West Springfield for Their Fourth Straight Win

Longmeadow came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the West Springfield Terriers with a sharp 19-4 victory. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Isabella Blue made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Lexi Winkler was a standout: she got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Marielly Mojica, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Longmeadow kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Longmeadow's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for West Springfield, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

As of now, neither Longmeadow nor the Terriers have any future games scheduled.
