Bolingbrook extends road winning streak to seven

Recap: Bolingbrook Raiders vs. South Bend Washington Panthers

The Bolingbrook Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on South Bend Washington with a sharp 75-52 victory on Saturday. Given Bolingbrook's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked third in Illinois, while South Bend Washington is ranked 30th in Indiana), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Bend Washington lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryiah Wilson, who scored 21 points along with six steals. Wilson scored a full 40.4% of South Bend Washington's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kira Reynolds was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Bolingbrook's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for South Bend Washington, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bolingbrook will take on Lincoln-Way Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Bend Washington, they will be playing at home against South Bend Adams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Bend Adams has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
