Recap: Lake Norman Charter Knights vs. Pine Lake Prep Pride
The Lake Norman Charter Knights pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Pine Lake Prep 68-62. Lake Norman Charter was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pine Lake Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Lake Norman Charter's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braylon Irelan, who scored 13 points along with four steals. The contest was Irelan's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Mcconneyhead, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lake Norman Charter's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Pine Lake Prep, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Norman Charter will face off against Concord at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Concord focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday. Pine Lake Prep won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Charlotte Latin at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th.
