Basketball Recap: Colin Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tennessee over Morristown-Hamblen West

Tennessee has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell just short of the Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans by a score of 74-72 on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Tennessee's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colin Brown, who went 13 for 24 on his way to 30 points and four steals. The match was Brown's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Braden Howard was another key player, going 8 for 13 on his way to 22 points and three steals.

Tennessee's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Morristown-Hamblen West, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tennessee will take on Gate City at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tennessee knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Gate City likes a good challenge. As for Morristown-Hamblen West, they will face off against Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
