Dezariyah Clark continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9 for 14 on her way to 22 points along with six boards and six steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. Scarlett Gilner was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
Chapel Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 52 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Hillside strolled past East Chapel Hill with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 51-33. The Hornets pushed the score to 41-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.
Chapel Hill better keep an eye on Kynnedy Roberts. She was instrumental in Hillside's win, going 8 of 13 en route to 22 points. What's more, Roberts also posted a 62% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in February of 2024. Jayla Smith also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Chapel Hill's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.7 points. As for Hillside, their record now sits at 7-13.
Everything came up roses for Chapel Hill against Hillside when the teams last played two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 73-38 victory. In that contest, Chapel Hill amassed a halftime lead of 42-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
