Valley took a loss when they played away from home on September 6th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Marbury with a sharp 28-7 win. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tilyn Carrell was his usual excellent self, rushing for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.

Valley's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Antwan Greenwood was especially locked on to Marbury's QB and sacked him three times. Greenwood is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Russell County's strategy against Park Crossing on Friday. That looming 61-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

It was another big night for Devin Brown, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 66 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Bryson Riggins, who threw for 206 yards and four touchdowns.
